Tanzanite is a gemsona created by N.R. Wynter. She is a hypothetical fusion of Fire Agate and canon Blue Diamond.

Abilities

Tanzanite has standard Gem abilities.

Bliss and Horror Inducement^[1]: Tanzanite received this ability from Blue Diamond's emotion manipulation and Fire Agate's proactive personality. She is capable of inducing sensations of extreme joy or terror to surrounding targets.
Pyrokinesis: An ability inherited from Fire Agate. Tanzanite can create and control fire.
Heat Resistance: Another ability originating from Fire Agate. Tanzanite is capable of withstanding extreme temperatures.

This fusion had gone under a few different gemstones before tanzanite.
- The first was bloodshot iolite.
- The second was covellite until N.R. Wynter decided on tanzanite for its high pleochroism and metaphyscial properties. ^[2]

Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite.
- Its chemical composition is {Ca₂}{Al₃}(Si₂O₇)(SiO₄)O(OH), has a MOHS scale hardness of 6 - 7, and an orthorhombic crystal system.
It is a rare variety as it can only be found in one place: the Mererani Hills of Northern Tanzania.
The color of this mineral is attributed to small amounts of vanadium.
Tanzanites were formed millions of years ago from tectonic plate activity and intense heat from Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Formation of tanzanites are geologically unique, which can explain its rarity.
Tanzanite has high pleochroism. Depending on the angle, the colors can range from blues to violets and sometimes burgundy.
It was discovered in the late 1960s.
Gem quality tanzanite is incredibly popular among blue colored gems.
Tanzanite is the birthstone of December and used as a gift to celebrate 8th and 24th wedding anniverasires
It was named after Tanzania.
Metaphysically, tanzanite is a stone of transmutation and magic. It can turn negative energies into love and understanding. It also improves spiritual awareness and psychic power.
- Also called "the workaholic stone", it helps the wearer slow down and relax, but in turn makes them successful in many areas of life.
